Kin Essence – Surrender to your internal ebb and flow
Jellyfish have a seemingly passive, relaxed and graceful demeanour. They free-swim, using their bell-shaped bodies to expand and contract, pushing themselves along in flow with the current, but also to pull themselves toward potential prey. They then use their tentacles as non-active drift-nets to capture and consume their prey. They exert a very small amount of energy in order to meet their needs, a true master of minimal effort for maximum gain.
Jellyfish teach us the importance of letting go, surrender and rolling with the natural ebb and flow of the tides of our life. Physically, although consisting of mainly water and their gelatinous form, they are powered and protected by their hydrostatic skeleton – which allows them to absorb oxygen through water and receive information that helps them to detect predators and prey. The jellyfish is the most energy efficient animal on planet.
We can draw parallels to their semi-transparent figure in that in order to thrive, sometimes we must choose to blend in to fully experience and absorb aspects of the collective conscious. When they break out from the group and find themselves washed ashore, we can associate this with being ready to follow our own individual flow and adventure. Trust that if you are feeling called to break away and do your own thing, that you do have the ability to do so, as long as you truly feel it’s your own flow you are following, and not just your ego choosing to stand out, rebel or be idolised.
