What is a customs and clearance charge?

Customs is a government agency responsible for regulating shipments entering a country. All shipments being sent to and from a country must clear customs first. We often encounter our international customers are asked to pay a fee (which differs from country to country) in order to receive their parcel. Please note, this is nothing to do with us or the postal charge we/you have paid. This is another 3rd party charge which is arranged by your countries government and is unavoidable when importing goods from another country. You may not always be asked to pay a fee, but in our experience, we have found these fees are occurring more frequently as the market for online shopping grows (aka is a great way for our governments to make money off another growing industry!). 

Who pays for a customs clearance charges?

Buyers often have to pay additional costs such as duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees to receive their parcels from Sarah Wilder + The Fifth Element Life. 

International buyers – please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges aren’t included in the item price or postage cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

If you aren't sure what extra charges you might be expected to pay to receive your goods, please check with your countries customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to ordering through our store.

If I placed an order recently and don’t receive any further emails, when can I expect delivery of my order?

Hold tight! The day we post your parcel you will receive any automatic email saying it has been shipped with your tracking code/receipt code so you know which day your parcel leaves and can gauge (as per above) roughly when you can expect your parcel. If the item is in stock, it usually goes out within 48 hours of purchase. Please note this is longer when our office is unmanned from Thursday 3pm - Monday 8am. Please note if you are not home, your parcel can often end up at the local post office so look out for the card from the mail man – If your parcel should go missing or not arrive within the time frame, please check with your local post office and also enter the tracking code I provided you HERE  <<  to see the details of your parcels movements. 

How do I work out my size?

We have 2 sizes in the mandala rings. S-M (USA SIZE 6) and M-L (USA SIZE 8). I have found that unless you have uniquely small or large fingers, both these sizes fit all the other sisters in between. They were designed specifically to adjust slightly (the back has a slight opening to one side) so that it can mould to any one of your fingers, and follow you through your journey – through pregnancy, weight fluctuations and the changing of the seasons. We do endeavour to create a smaller and larger size again, however at this stage we only offer the two sizes. If you are not familiar with the measurements, you can simply go to any local jeweller and ask to be sized, or even google a to-scale ring size chart, print and fit it onto your finger. Postage delivery ETA’S

Australia – We use a combined shipping method of courier service and Australia post which in general takes anywhere from 1-5 business days depending on where you are in Australia. We are based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

EVERYWHERE ELSE - We currently use a courier service for all overseas orders which takes 1-3 weeks for parcels to arrive. All overseas parcels provide tracking.

How do I know which mandala to choose? They are all so pretty and I can’t decide on one!

It’s ok. Deep breaths. We advise that if you are unsure where to start, you can check out our symbol guide here which breaks down all the current designs, categorises them and shows you where you can purchase! Simple!

What is your jewellery made of and will it tarnish?

All the TFEL range is made from sterling silver. This means it does contain a less than 10% amount of copper, which does leave a green tinge on about 2% of the population. If you usually have this happen with other silver jewellery, this simply means you have a higher acidity level in your skin. Staying away from overuse of chemicals, sweat and harsh environments will see this occur at a minimum. In general, however, there shouldn’t be any problems and they can be worn all day, every day (they fit like a second skin!)

There are a few imperfections on my mandala ring, what should it look like?

We have all our jewellery made in small batches and they each go through a very vigorous process to get here! This means variations in the finish will occur (only slightly and within quality control guidelines). Some rings will vary with the black etching in the design and this is perfectly normal and not a valid reason for return or refund. There will also be instances of small imperfections in the rings – such as slight markings in the silver – please note this is just another on of those unique things that happens during the production process (each ring takes 3 days to produce and goes through many processes!) so this is perfectly normal for sterling silver.

My parcel has arrived damaged, faulty and I’m not happy with the product – what do I do?

If, by chance your parcel arrives in an unacceptable fashion – please let us know! Photos are always really helpful to gauge what the exact issue is so I can take the appropriate action, and we happily accept returns based on damage or faulty products – you will need to send your parcel back in it's original condition and packaging to this address once we have approved and confirmed the return, and we will resend you your order asap. 




My order arrived but I've accidentally ordered the wrong size - can I exchange it for another size?

We totally understand this happens sometimes and will happily accept returns based on incorrect sizing – you will need to send your parcel back in it's original condition and packaging to this address via parcel post within 7 days (please do not send as a letter!) and once we the returned item we will resend you your order with correct sizing asap.
